HERMES Birkin 2012 New Design- Casaque Birkin

Bagopedia has shown the HERMES Birkin 2012 new design- the Casaque Birkin on my other blog- My Birkin Blog. The bags have many different color-blocking designs and color combinations. This is a 35 CM tri-color in Gris, Sanguine, and Jaune. 

Personally I don't like this design. For summer 2012, I like the Ghillies Birkin which is shown below:

Bagopedia's Comment: Bagopeia loves raffia. I love good raffia that is soft and has a summer casual look. I love the combination of raffia and leather. It is hard to find a good raffia bag in dark color. That is why I like this Rachel Zoe hobo very much. 

I love the look of this bag and the gold tone hardware. Personally, I think the two outside zipper pocket can be removed and make the zipper pocket on the back bigger across the back. 

This hobo is perfect for summer working day. It is not too casual as a beach tote and not too formal like a total leather bag.

I think the back zipper pocket can be enlarge across the whole back.

 The top view looks like it is easy to access your stuff. The handle part details are very well done.

Even the same color on Birkin and makes Kelly more dull and formal. It is not a lifestyle that Bagopedia is fancy for,


I died when I saw this photo. I have never imagined that a Kelly bag can be so much fun- the candy color lime with Turquoise finish. The leather is lamb that HERMES is cutting so much use of it because its extremely limited supply. Of course this is a costumed order piece. You can try to order one yourself with your own taste of color combination.

Bagopedia was quite puzzled about how to carry this tote in a modern way when I first saw this tote. This tote can easily wear you and make you 10 years older or look like a tree-hugger. I am also glad that the photo of Olivia Palermo carries this tote came in at the same time. I love that Olivia wears a simple top with skinny pants and heels. The tote doesn't make her look 10 years older. She totally controls this tote.

Bagopedia's Comment: These days Bagopedia doesn't seem to be able to remove my eyes away from Marni. I don't really like too much detail but I really like this bag. Marni's details are much like, well thought through and on purpose. The ribbon closure is really unique. I also love the yellow color lining. It is much easier to find things instead of a black lining. The ribbon design gives the bag a feminine approach. They also make the outside pockets less visual-able. 


Most hobo bags are slouchy, but this one is a gift.

Bagopedia's Comment: This clutch is ideal as my kind of summer clutch. It has a neon color body in vinyl, semi-transparent, snap closure with a large body (12.5" Wide). It is ideal to put inside my tote as well as carry it individually. The more formal the clutches are , the more formal the occasions they fit. This clutch is ideal for a summer outdoor dinner, party, or an evening drinks. It is big enough to be a small bag.


However, I think the price tag is a bit high for the clutch.

Bagopedia's Comment: Illustrator Brian Rea for Marni Tri-Figure shopping totes are corky but adorable. 


I also find the handles' length is the most suitable for me. I love to carry totes on my shoulder. Some totes' handles are too short for my shoulder. This is a tote-tote, totally nothing inside the bag. The body is in plastic with leather handles. They are actually two different totes, not the front and the back. The backs are just blank white.

Bagopeida's Comment: The bag we love, or say the bag we all have, comes with the Cuir/leather version in 2012. The Cuir version also offers as a foldable tote in lambskin and goat. 


Bagopedia is sure that Longchamp spent a lot of time and money to develop this foldable leather. Lambskin is actually very soft and thin. It can be developed into a foldable version better than the calf. Bagopedia actually went to see the tote but didn't purchase it. I had two reservations: 


1. I am not sure how durable the leather is. It looks extremely thin and not as soft.
2. It just looks like a large nothing when you put your stuff inside. It is not as beautiful as it shows on photos.


I am not sure I truly loved it. However, I believe soon I will hear people's opinions about this tote. The SA told me I shouldn't worry about the quality of the leather because Longchamp only uses the best quality leather. But she didn't know that she is dealing with someone who is touching the best leather everyday. I am sure it is the best leather you can find within the price range, but not the best leather ever.

Bagopedia's Comment: Fancy designs are on the way up. That works for Bagopedia because I do prefer the fancy looks than the belly-handing torn jeans looks (And flip-flaps too). Dolce & Gannaba 2012-13 FW collection tells you to get ready for fancier looks.


Balmain is a huge support for the fancy styles. I love that only Balmain can pull gold and white so well together. That is why I post this bag. I have seen so many designers or companies are able to pull black and gold together, but not white and gold.


When you see a lot of black and gold combination, white and gold combination is another choice. This bag is also great for summer. Just tell others that I am a season ahead.

If you have the money, Bagopedia will suggest to get one in exotic leather. If the bag can look so good after 90 years, it can also look good in the next 90 years.

Bagopedia's Comment: Mother's Day is only 3 days away. I believe some people are still panicking about the gift for Moms. I found this clutch if you haven't had an idea. I am hoping that I am able to help you out this time.

Bagopedia myself had been a tote person until I found the magic of clutches two years ago. Then I have been addicting to them. Clutches are necessary to have. I will suggest to have one in black satin to start with. Then pop some colors, then add some blings... I love this Tory Burch clutch. It is a good brand that represents simple yet elegant designs. The woven between leather and straw is really pretty. It gives the patent leather a little tone-down yet adds a casual and settle feel to the clutch. I think the red, black, and the titanium are all beautiful. 

The price tag is also fair- $275.00. If you purchased it from Nordstom, you can enjoy the excellent return or exchange policy. I don't know how she won't like it though.

Ashley Greene is one of the stylish girls in Hollywood. She always pulls herself together well. Her styles are simple and classic which I always admire. I notice that she either carry large totes or small bags. That somehow is always my direction.


I recently spotted two photos of Ashley's: in Gucci tote and Tiffany Avenue Shopper Tote. Both styles are still available, but both colors are discontinued. 


A good bag is worth investing. They look good and don't go out of style easily.

When you walk into a restaurant, the host usually asks you: "Smoking or Not Smoking?" This morning I went through Lulu Guinness site and found this pouch. It immediately reminded me of the PRADA clutch this spring/summer. It is funny to see designers come out of almost the same thing every season. I love to put them together to view them. Of course the price of the PRADA one is way higher than the Lulu one. Is that why people say: "It costs a lot to smoke."?

Bagopedia's Comment: One of my best friends since teens wrote to me and said that I always find interesting bags and share with them since high school. I guess sharing interesting bags becomes my permanent duty and I am glad someone who invented Blogs for people to share what they truly love.


I love this New York based Award-Winning designer Rafe Totengco's clutch. It is edgy, different, modern, and sexy. It looks like a piece of sculpture or even a Frank Gehry building. I also love that you can choose silver, gold, wood or even shell looks.


The price tag is a decision making point. It is not cheap, but not too expensive. When you look at the details, they tell you it is worth it.
