Bags For This Fall/Winter

Yes, another 3 months have passed from my last entry. Bagopedia is surprised that people still visit this blog.

Today I will share some of my recent purchases and thoughts about the bags this fall/winter:

LANVIN $590.00, Net-A-Porter

I saw this LANVIN pouch this morning on NAP and I purchased it immediately. I love the beetles! You can't really describe the colors. The beetle colors are big this fall/winter. Tory Burch is all over it. This season many big brand have something in beetle colors. 

Bottega Veneta did the beetle collection for fall 2010. I loved the tote but it was so limited. I didn't get one.

BVLGARI Serpenti Bag, $1,950-$2,650, BVLGARI Stores

I bought this BVLGARI bag. It is elegant and classic. I was offered one in green so I took it. The bag is still now on pre-ordred stage. I love this green. The bag looks like a large emerald. It is really beautiful! I also chose the biggest bag because I don't want to spend so much money for a bag that can only be carried in the evenings. Even the largest bag is only 30 CM.

GUCCI Bamboo Shopper, $1,890-$2,290, GUCCI.com

The third bag I have purchased this season is this GUCCI shopper. I liked the black but I chose this red instead. I don't have any bags in red and this is a red I really like. I love the bamboo details. The tote has a lot of compartments and pockets inside. It is a well-organized tote.

Bagopedia's Comment: Bagopedia is surprised this bag is from Lanvin which is famous for its French elegance. The bag looks like a sports bag with lots of convenient pockets- for the water or snacks.  the JL logo that stands for Jeanne Lanvin is very sporty too.


Obviously Lanvin is going for a younger look, but I am not sure it quite works. I don't want to spend 2.5K to get a fun looking bag. I can see Lanvin in cooperation with Nike for this bag, but not Lanvin itself.

Bagopeida's Comment: Bagopeida decided to get this bag. Even though this bag has been on the market for a while, I haven't been able to forget about it. Some readers might find it funny that I am blogging a bag that is not complete new in the stores. Bagopedia thinks every bag/person deserves a second chance.

Some online stores keep getting new bags. This bag starts to get on the bottom of some website. I know eventually it will go on sale. Even the new bags are coming out, I can't stop thinking about it occasionally.

The price is high, but it has a good name and is an unique piece that is worth collecting.

Bagopedia's Comment: It is called Happy, but Bagopedia isn't happy. Bagopedia doesn't like the GM size (12" wide) which becomes a hobo bag. Bagopedia attach the photo below showing Katie Holmes carries the MM size (10" wide) which features the bag much better. This actually reminds Bagopedia what Balenciaga did to the Motorcycle bag. It is time to design new bags instead of playing with an existing perfect bag.

People like SJP can afford it, not you and me. Bagopedia doesn't even think SJP paid for this bag either. Even Bagopedia loves this bag itself, we don't think it is wise to put money on it.

They’re no strangers to globe-hopping and yesterday afternoon (September 28) Lindsay Lohan and Ali Lohan were spotted landing in Paris, France.

The famous sisters looked a bit jet-lagged as they made their way through the terminal at Charles de Gaulle International Airport, amidst a sea of fans and paparazzi.

Lindsay carried a LANVIN Large Rosa Quilted Grommet Sac ($1,878 Barneys New York). This bag is totally against what I believe in handbags- Satin, too seasonal with unnecessary decorations, but I am in love with the bag. I love Alber Elbaz's Lanvin. There is something about it. That "Magic"- the power that will force you take out your credit card before your brain telling you not to. Once a while I allow myself buy things without looking at the bill. This is the time.
