Bagopedia's Comment: Bagopedia has just started reviewing the fall winter bags. I am happy to see them so far. The first one that caught my eyes is this Alexander McQueen bag. 


I love the shine on the leather. Only good quality leather can give a good shine. So the first impression is good. The design is unique and modern but still keeps the elegance. That is what I like about McQueen. It is modern yet practical. I love the flap and I think that is the sale point. I was afraid the flap can cause difficulty when you need to access your items inside the bag since there are no outside pockets. However, the flap can be put inside the bag just like a Birkin. That way you don't have to close the bag entirely.


The price tag is not pretty but I think it is worth it.

The side zippers can be used as a Celine tote to enlarge the bag and change the shape.

Bagopedia's Comment: Bagopedia is surprised this bag is from Lanvin which is famous for its French elegance. The bag looks like a sports bag with lots of convenient pockets- for the water or snacks.  the JL logo that stands for Jeanne Lanvin is very sporty too.


Obviously Lanvin is going for a younger look, but I am not sure it quite works. I don't want to spend 2.5K to get a fun looking bag. I can see Lanvin in cooperation with Nike for this bag, but not Lanvin itself.

Bagopedia's Comment: The color isn't the only season Bagopedia likes about this bag. The school look- a short handle with long strap, the ostrich effect, the price, and the antique metal piece all make this bag work.

Mulberry and Miu Miu make similar bag for double of the prices. Twill lining is not what Bagopedia loves. But for the price tag, Bagopeia can accept it.

Deep and rich colors start to show as soon as the heat weaves are gone. Fall vegetable colors seem to be big this coming fall such as eggplants, dark green, pumpkin, squash, and rich red.

Photo below shows how Avatar's Zoe Saldana carries this bag. She wears a Bird by Juicy Couture Jumpsuit ($430) and Ann Taylor sandals ($198)- a total of $1,123.00 to create the "IT" look of the fall.

Bagopedia's Comment: 3 things Bagopedia likes about this bag: The petal pink color, the lambskin, and the long handle height. 3 things Bagopedia doesn't like about this bag: The design is too busy (the large stitches on the handle shows masculine, but the folded leather in the front show feminine), the side straps are not necessary, and the price is very high. Overall, Bagopedia prefers a much simpler design.
